Life Group Topics & Meeting Options

As mentioned in a recent video update, CBC is starting up Life Groups for the Fall!

Although you are welcome to study different topics, we encourage each life group and individual to consider the following options so that everybody will have a common base for relevant questions, conversation, and discussion.

Listed below are the two main study options presented for the coming weeks:

  1. The Book of James ~ A 'deeper dive' into the passage from the previous Sunday message ~  and discussion.
  2. Spiritual Beings ~ This series uses 7 videos produced by 'The Bible Project.'     New videos are  presented every other week, moving you and your group through the end of November.  The schedule and links are:

September  13 & 20   Introduction to Spiritual Beings

We highly encourage you and your group to download and use the study notes for this series !

More than an add-on, these notes provide an in-depth resource for everything the videos present -

AND a lot more content to help your study and discussion time !

Please remember...

Our plan is to help everyone find a group, connect and participate...in person or through online connections!

Pastoral staff will provide hosting and support for groups through the ZOOM platform to help guide discussion and connect those who are not yet able to meet in person.   Please contact Pastoral staff to set up a ZOOM meeting time for yourself and/or your group.   You are encouraged to find a group you already spend time with  (such as people in your neighborhood, co-workers, Church contacts you see more than Sunday morning,

even you own family/extended family !

The idea is to meet with those we already spend time with to limit possible health issues

from the ongoing virus outbreak.

How Can You Get Involved

Do you enjoy opening up your home to friends and neighbors?

Do you have a heart to share Jesus with friends and neighbors, but don't have an avenue to do so?

What if not having all the answers, on how God's word intersects with our everyday life, was perfectly okay?

If you answered yes to all of these questions you might be a perfect fit to be a host and facilitate a Life Group!  Click here for more informaiton!!

What CBC Life Groups Are All About

What is a Life Group?

A Life Group is an 8-10 week small group experience. It's a time to gather with other people from CBC, open up God's Word together and have spiritual conversations about our faith journeys. These are mixed groups -- marrieds, singles, young adults, elders, etc. -- not "affinity-based". Your group will plan to meet weekly through the session, however as a group flexibility in the scheduling is a must.

Life Groups strive to engage people in meaningful relationship by doing life together.

We Believe You Can't Do Life Alone

One of the biggest lies believers listen to over and over is that life can somehow be lived isolated and alone.  That could not be further from the truth.  Rather, God designed each of us to live in community and relationship with others.  That is where Life Group ministry comes in.  You will hear our pastors and leadership continually say spiritual growth does not happen merely on Sunday mornings, but most often from Sunday to Sunday.   If you want to grow in your relationship with Jesus and take next steps, you need people surrounding you to encourage you, challenge you, and be there for you. Groups are a great opportunity for you to get connected to our church and take your relationship with God to the next level!

What Can I Expect At Life Group?

Groups are all about people taking next steps together.  All of our groups try and meet weekly for the entirety of the 8-10 week session.  At each meeting you will have a leader that leads the discussion and offers up questions for the group to answer.  Our desire for Life Groups is that we might be united believers living life together and living community.
