Thanks For Stopping By

We have a series of questions to work through below to help you better understand what to expect on your first visit to Clatskanie Baptist Church

Where we are located?

We are located at 415 S. Nehalem Street, Clatskanie OR 97016 -  MAP –

Sunday morning Service begins at 10:15am

When should I arrive?

*On your first visit, plan to arrive about 15 minutes early to get acquainted with our building, and enjoy a snack or coffee.

What do you have for my family?

There are many ministries at Clatskanie Baptist Church ranging from those available at our weekend services to year-round outreach ministries. Visit the Ministries page to see all the activities you and your family can participate in now!  Thanks for visiting and stopping by our webpage for more information.

On Sunday Mornings:

  • Childcare is available our service for ages birth – 2 years of age.
  • Sunday school is offered during three designated sessions throughout the year (click here to find out more information about our sessions).  During these sessions there are bible classes for pre-k through adults (however there is no nursery offered during this time).
  • Sunday school hour starts at 9am each Sunday morning during each session
  • We offer nursery (birth through age 2) and children's church (pre-k - 4th grade) during our service which starts at 10:15am.

Middle & High School Students:

Refuge is our middle and high school ministry offered year around.

  • Refuge (youth group) takes place every Sunday*** evening from 6:30pm to 8:30pm (this is for 7th - 12th grade).
  • Monthly activities planned.  We have several staple events that take place throughout the year at Refuge.  These are amazing times to grow deeper in reltionship with God and in frindship with one another.
  • Mission Trips.  We desire to see students understand the importance of being on mission for Christ and so a big part of that is we try to offer a missions experience at some point during their middle/high school time here at Refuge.

*Currently (as of March 2020) we meet once a month at pastor Matt's house.

**Due to the Coronavirus restrictions we have canceled all Refuge meetings until it is safe to meet together.

Visit Refuge Student Ministries page for more information about all the activities available for Middle and High School students.

If You Decide to Visit CBC

What should I expect?

  • When you visit CBC, you can expect to smell the coffee brewing, find a treat ready to taste, and a host of friendly people glad that you’re here.
  • CBC is a place where you can come as you are, relax and feel comfortable at church. No one is going to put you “on the spot” or ask you something embarrassing. We are a relaxed, informal, upbeat, and a welcoming church.
  • You will hear some great music. Whether you choose to sing along or just listen, that’s fine.
  • You will also hear a message that you will understand; one that will be relevant to your life.
  • We believe that going to church should be an experience that changes a person’s life. Church should be real, genuine, authentic, and practical to the daily needs of people in our day and age. Church should be a place that you enjoy coming to.  Church should be filled with the laughter of people who really love being together. Church should be about impacting the Community and not just the people who attend. It should observe what needs exist among the people in the surrounding area and do everything it can to meet those needs and make it a better place to live.
  • Finally, church should be the place where people can encounter a real God who loves real people and who can work in their lives in real ways. If you think church should be like this, then we’d love to see you here!

How do I get Connected?

CBC believes in building relationships.  Under “Get Connected” you will find a variety of opportunities and ministries to connect with others in our CBC family.  We recognize that getting connected can take a little bit of time, especially if you're brandnew to our community.  However, we would encourage you to take a couple 3 or 4 sundays to really see if CBC can be a place you feel comfortable connecting with.

What should I wear?

We know you might be concerned about wearing the right thing when you come to church; we invite you to come as you are.  Whether you are more comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt, polo and khakis, or a suit and tie, you’ll fit right in to our community.
